I’m Ali Waqar, and I started Wishful Day because I’ve spent a lot of my life being the person friends text at 11pm asking “what do I actually write in this card?” Turns out I’m good at it, and I enjoy it.

Finding the right words for a retirement card, a coworker’s last day, or a new job announcement is harder than it looks. Say too little and it feels cold; try too hard and it sounds like a greeting-card cliché. My goal here is simple: give you lines you can use word-for-word, or tweak in thirty seconds to sound like you.

Every message on this site is one I’d be comfortable signing myself. If a line feels generic or forced, it doesn’t make the page.
